We all hear it, we all see it, we all feel it…

We all are in essence looking for happiness. We are moved in many ways to find that happy place. Some find it by changing the way they look, smell, walk, and talk, while others attain it at the pop of a pill, all of whom end up losing it again when the show is over.

Throughout this journey we find ourselves repeating things that feel good for the moment and vanishes the next. Most of us repeat things that tempt our minds with frustration, anger and many other negative vibes.

These things create big problems in our health and life, and as a result we become unhappy and discouraged.

So how do we rid ourselves from these temptations?

Ans: We don’t.. I’ll explain…

A wise man once shared with me a message, he said, “Temptation only has access through a door you leave open”. Let’s take the “mind” and replace this word with “house”, “happiness” for “invited” and the word “temptation” for “un-invited” in the following example.

You are the owner of the house, at the knock of your front door or the ring of your doorbell… You out of your own free will may decide whom to open the door to. You choose what guest to let in… Say you have an un-invited guest knocking at your door, shouting and screaming, “LET ME IN! I’M ANGRY, FURIOUS, and DISTURBED”…

Soo..? Are you going to let that guest into your house? Ans: No... Let’s say you got another un-invited guest shouting, “I’M INSECURE, TERRIFIED, JEALOUS, ENVIOUS, and VENGFUL”… Still don’t let them in! You decide whom to entertain.

Say you Invited a guest, he knocks and says, “Hey I’m loving, capable, powerful, committed, disciplined, relentless, a winner, calm, cool, and collected”

What do you do then…? You gratefully open the front door and let those thoughts come pouring in. You see we can’t control who knocks on the door, be it function or dysfunction, life or death, but we can control whom we let in or entertain.

“Whatever you reap is what you have sown”

To stay encouraged for the good, we must encourage for the good. There are three great scriptures among many others that detail [encouragement] for the [good] in The Bible, Proverbs 18:21, “Life and death is in the power of your tongue”.

In other words what you say can kill or construct your future, the other, Luke 6:45, “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks”, and lastly Proverbs 23:7, “As a man thinks in his heart so is he”.

The above scriptures summarize all I have shared in the first two chapters of this blog. For more understanding read below…

If you have nothing good to say about yourself or anyone else it is better to not say anything at all. Words have the power to encourage or discourage.

Whichever one you choose to send is exactly what you practice, and the more you practice the more you grow, be it into a bigger encourager or discourager. Our hearts have many desires, so we have to intentionally choose which thoughts to allow into it.

If our goal is to be better we must entertain thoughts that encourage us, these thoughts come from a good place, and when we do this we will be happy, and those around us will know through your health and life (actions).

The purpose of this blog is to give you good encouragement and the goal is to leave you better off than when you came. God bless and enjoy this remarkable day.

Proverbs 4:23

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
